Google Calendar has a great update for hybrid workers

If you are a Google Workspace user, here’s a productivity update for you.

They’ve just added a new function to Google Calendar that might make your life a lot easier, especially if you work from home.

Remember when Google originally introduced the ability to share your working location with your coworkers in 2021? They’ve taken it to the next level.

You can now add several locations to your calendar for any given day. So, whether you spend your time between the workplace and your home, or you’re on the go as a mobile worker, Google has you covered.

Consider this: you’ve only been in the office for half a day before leaving for a client meeting. Your coworkers will be aware thanks to this new functionality.

Google is aware that many of us continue to work remotely or combine office and remote work. This upgrade is intended specifically for hybrid workers.

It is only available to people who have a Workspace account, which includes:

• Google Workspace Business Standard/Plus

• Google Workspace Enterprise Standard/Plus

• Education Fundamentals/Standard/Plus

• The Teaching and Learning Upgrade

• Nonprofits

Unfortunately, personal accounts will not have access for the time being.

By default, the working location functionality will be enabled. However, if you prefer that your coworkers cannot find you, then you can quickly disable it (We’re not judging… we all get distracted at work).

If we can help you get the most out of everyday applications like calendars and email, get in touch.
